ICYMI: Cato Institute, FOX News Analyst Highlights Government Gone Wild Video
Tallahassee—Daniel J. Mitchell of the Cato Institute weighed in today on Government Gone Wild’s most recent video, calling it one of the best videos on bureaucratic spending—in fact, second only to his own video.
“This is the second-best video I’ve ever seen on the bloated and overpaid government workforce,” notes Mitchell, a Senior Fellow at Cato Institute, Washington’s premier free-market think tank. “I especially like how he understands that the problem is the size of government and I also admire his recognition that Republicans often are just as bad as Democrats.”
Florida-based Government Gone Wild, a non-partisan movement aimed at educating citizens about the national debt and out-of-control government spending, produced the video, entitled “Special Interests…Exposed!” Government Gone Wild has exploded onto the grassroots Conservative scene, garnering millions of hits online and a recent feature on the Drudge Report.
“This video highlights an alarming trend: the era of enormous government and entrenched government workers,” explained Blaise Ingoglia, founder of Government Gone Wild. “The numbers speak for themselves, and here is a perfect example: As Americans have struggled to pay the bills under the current recession, the Transportation Department has gone from one employee making over $170,000 a yearto 1,690 employees making that amount. Why do we need that many astronomical bureaucratic salaries?”
Other highlights of the video include:
· The Department of Defense had 1,868employees making over $150,000 a yearwhen the recession started. Today, that number is 10,100 employees.
· Since this recession started, the number of federal employees making more than $100,000 a year has doubled…in less than two years.
· The average total compensation for a private sector employee in 2009 was $61,000.00, compared with $123,000.00 for a federal employee.
· With approximately 21,300,000 government employees in this country, that means that about 16% of this nation’s voting electorate works for government.
“If you count spouses or other family members, that means at least32%of the voting electorate will be likely to come out and vote against candidates who propose cutting government spending,” concluded Ingoglia. “That is a big block of people—and the hidden danger of big government.”

Foreign Ministry reports circulating in the Kremlin are warning that an already explosive situation in the United States is about to get a whole lot worse as a new law put forth by President Obama is said capable of seeing up to 500,000 American citizens jailed for the crime of opposing their government.
Sparking the concern of Russian diplomats over the growing totalitarian bent of the Obama government is the planned reintroduction of what these reports call one of the most draconian laws ever introduced in a free society that is titled “The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”.
First introduced in the US Congress in 2007 by Democratic Representative Jane Harmon, this new law passed the US House of Representatives by a secretive voice vote, but failed to pass the US Senate, after which it was believed dead until this past week when it was embraced by Obama who became the first American President to name his own citizens as a threat to his Nations security.
In what is called the National Security Strategy document, that is required of US Presidents by their Congress, that embraces the dictatorial ideals of the “Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act”, Obama has ordered his Federal police and intelligence forces to begin targeting Americans opposed to him and his radical socialist polices. Obama’s top counter-terrorism advisor, John Brennan, in speaking to reporters about this new “strategy” says it makes the problem of home-grown terrorists a top priority because an increasing number of individuals in the US have become “captivated by extremist ideology or causes.”
The Times of London is further reporting that Obama’s new National Security Strategy “officially” ends America’s “War on Terror” in what they call “a sweeping repudiation of the Bush doctrine of pre-emptive military strikes.” And as Obama begins re-focusing his forces from fighting America’s foreign enemies, to those opposed to him in his own country, it is important to remember the warning about this new law given by the former CIA official, Philip Giraldi, who had previously warned of the Bush-Cheney plan to attack Iran with nuclear weapons, and who said: “The mainstream media has made no effort to inform the public of the impending Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act.
The Act, which was sponsored by Congresswoman Jane Harman of California, was passed in the House by an overwhelming 405 to 6 vote on October 24th and is now awaiting approval by the Senate Homeland Security Committee, which is headed by Senator Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut. Harman’s bill contends that the United States will soon have to deal with home grown terrorists and that something must be done to anticipate and neutralize the problem. The act deals with the issue through the creation of a congressional commission that will be empowered to hold hearings, conduct investigations, and designate various groups as “homegrown terrorists.”
The commission will be tasked to propose new legislation that will enable the government to take punitive action against both the groups and the individuals who are affiliated with them. Like Joe McCarthy and HUAC in the past, the commission will travel around the United States and hold hearings to find the terrorists and root them out. Unlike inquiries in the past where the activity was carried out collectively, the act establishing the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Commission will empower all the members on the commission to arrange hearings, obtain testimony, and even to administer oaths to witnesses, meaning that multiple hearings could be running simultaneously in various parts of the country.
The ten commission members will be selected for their “expertise,” though most will be appointed by Congress itself and will reflect the usual political interests. They will be paid for their duties at the senior executive pay scale level and will have staffs and consultants to assist them. Harman’s bill does not spell out terrorist behavior and leaves it up to the Commission itself to identify what is terrorism and what isn’t. Language inserted in the act does partially define “homegrown terrorism” as “planning” or “threatening” to use force to promote a political objective, meaning that just thinking about doing something could be enough to merit the terrorist label.
The act also describes “violent radicalization” as the promotion of an “extremist belief system” without attempting to define “extremist.” As an example of those American’s Obama will be targeting, Giraldi further writes that The Simon Wiesenthal Center, in testifying before the US Congress in support of this new law, swore that an organization called “Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth” was an example of a homegrown terrorist organization, leading one Russian diplomat in this report to state: “If 1,200 of America’s top architectural and engineering professionals are deemed terrorists simply because they question their governments propaganda than truly no one is safe in the United States anymore”.
As another example of how dictatorial the Obama regime has become, and as the Gulf of Mexico oil debacle has now become the worst ecological disaster our World has ever seen, the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, this past week slammed American reporters for “asking too many questions about BP”. Leading one to ask that if Obama’s regime can’t be asked about this disaster, what can they be asked about?
The answer is apparently none, as Obama himself, just this past week, in announcing his signing of a new law called the Press Freedom Act refused to answer any reporters’ questions and abruptly left them standing in stupefaction over the irony, an ordeal that shows how far America has fallen. Another irony apparently lost upon the American people is that their President Obama, who has been dubbed “The Great Communicator”, now holds the dubious distinction of having held fewer press conferences than any American President in modern history. And if yesterday’s press conference, his first in nearly a year, was any example one can see why as incredulous press corps was left astounded that Obama had no knowledge of the firing/resignation of one of his top officials.
In all of these events one fact, beyond all others, stands out….in what was once called “The Land of the Free, And the Home of the Brave”…..the United States today has become “The Land Of Slave, And the Home of the Coward”….and these Americans have only themselves to blame.
The American People need this information in the light of all the destruction that these Government Mortgage Entities have caused our country and the entire world.

Our government has tried to coerce the economy to do what it wants and the economy refuses to cooperate. During the last two plus years, the government has spent trillions of dollars in an effort to jump start the economy and the economy remains in the doldrums. How can that be? Some of the greatest minds in the economic field have opined that the government is the key to turning around the economy. Spend, spend, spend has been the approach and yet the economy remains stagnant. Where does the government get the money that it is throwing at the economy? The government either borrows, taxes, or prints the money that it spends. Lately, most of the money is borrowed or printed and both of these increase our debt.
Until recently, it was understood that the economy much like life, had phases that occurred on a regular basis. There would be ups when everything looked rosy and growth took place. People prospered and good times seemed to be the routine. That would be followed by downs when everything looked gloomy and losses followed. Life is also much like that. Think about it. When one starts school, one is at the bottom of the totem pole and then after a few years one is a senior in elementary school. Wow! What a deal. Then, one is again at the bottom in middle school for a couple of years and becomes top dog for the final year. Ugh! High school and once again one is at the bottom until senior year when things and prospects soar. That is life and it cannot be changed. That particular scenario continues throughout life as one enters a career, goes to college, or enters the military. The ups and downs can be alleviated but they can not be eliminated.
If one could control the economy or any other aspect of life, then there would be no poor, famines, or war and all economies would continue to prosper. Look at history. Famine, war, and misery have been recorded throughout history. Some areas of the world have been more susceptible than others, but most have not been immune. The United States has been blessed because of its weather, oceans, and rivers. Those elements have allowed food to be produced and transported cheaply unlike any other country in the world. Look at population centers throughout our country. They are along the coasts and rivers where transportation is plentiful. Our economy grew because of those strengths, but even then, bad weather, war or other elements beyond our control caused the economy to drag at various times throughout our history.
When one looks at history, it is obvious that the phases of growth in an economy are routine. This is the longest recession in our history and it seems that the more the government tries to interfere, the worse that it becomes. Businesses and individual people are undecided about how to act because they are not sure about what the government will do next. Until that uncertainty is relieved, this recession will continue. People are sitting on any savings that they may have and businesses are content to wait for better times.

A succinct assessment of where we are headed. It makes my hair stand on end and my skin crawl, but it identifies just what is at stake in 2012 for our Nation!
Make no mistake about it, we are a center-right country and the people of this nation are (finally) waking up and rejecting big government. A Gallup Poll has 42% of people self identifying as conservatives, 35% as moderate and 20% as liberals. This administration has been unapologetic in governing from this minority 20%and the liberal media has been more than happy to be an accomplice to it.
Maybe we shouldn’t be criticizing Obama for it. Maybe we should consider thanking him for it. Why? Well, just imagine if John McCain had won the election. This country would be chugging along like it always had, heading for bankruptcy. We would still be adding more crushing debt because of their inability to balance a budget. We would still be adding onerous regulations that are crippling business and hindering the recovery of our stagnant economy. McCain would have aided in the destruction of our republic at a much slower pace and the electorate would have hardly noticed it.
With an overt “in you face” style of governing this administration has exposed their preference for socialism but, thankfully, were premature in doing so. With control of both chambers of Congress including, at one time, a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, the White House overtly pushed their leftist agenda without even giving us time to read the bills and having to “pass the bill to find out what’s in it”.
Obama has, at lightning speed, pushed us to the cliffs edge…but he at least gave us time to realize that we had not gone over it yet. McCain would have gradually marched us towards the precipice. If Obama would have been elected President after McCain he would have sent our children’s and grandchildren’s future into the big government abyss.
It will take years, as well as a strong will and an informed electorate, to undo the damage to this republic by this administration and the one before it. We still have time to pull back and reverse course but we must start now.
We should not be hypocrites. If Obama is voted out of office next November because of rampant, unsustainable spending we need to hold the next President to the same standard. We have no choice but to do so. The days of lying down to party leadership are over, unless, your party leadership is serious about balancing the Federal budget, tax and entitlement reform.
The bottom line is this…the progressive and socialist movement in this country got impatient and showed their cards prematurely. If they had waited a little longer it would have been “game over” and in a strange way, because of a now awakened nation, Barack Obama may be the savior of our republic.

Just one year ago, fresh from his inauguration celebrations, President Obama was flying high. After one of the nation’s most inspiring political campaigns, the election of America ‘s first black president had captured the hopes and dreams of millions. To his devout followers, it was inconceivable that a year later his administration would be gripped in self-imposed crisis.
Of course, they don’t see it as self-imposed. It’s all George Bush’s fault !
George Bush, who doesn’t have a vote in congress and who no longer occupies The White House, is to blame for it all.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to end earmarks.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to make peace with direct, no precondition talks with America’s most hate-filled enemies during his first year in office, ushering in a new era of global cooperation.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to end the hiring of former lobbyists into high White House jobs.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to end no-compete contracts with the government.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to disclose the names of all attendees at closed White House meetings.
- He broke Obama’s promise, for a new era of bipartisan cooperation in all matters.
- He broke Obama’s promise, to have chosen a home church to attend Sunday services with his family by Easter of last year.
Yes, it’s all George Bush’s fault! President Obama is nothing more than a puppet in the never-ending failed Bush administration. If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, all of President Obama’s problems would be solved. His promises would have been kept, the economy would be back on track, Iran would have stopped its work on developing a nuclear bomb and would be negotiating a peace treaty with Israel. North Korea would have ended its tyrannical regime, and integrity would have been restored to the federal government.
Oh, and did I mention what it would be like, if the Democrats, under the leadership of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, didn’t have the heavy yoke of George Bush around their necks? There would be no ear marks, no closed-door drafting of bills, no increase in deficit spending, no special-interest influence (unions), no vote buying ( Nebraska, Louisiana ).
If only George Bush wasn’t still in charge, we’d have real change by now.
All the broken promises, all the failed legislation and delay (health care reform, immigration reform) is not President Obama’s fault or the fault of the Democrat-controlled Congress. It’s all George Bush’s fault !
Take for example the decision of Eric Holder, the president’s attorney general, to hold terrorists’ trials in New York City. Or his decision to try the Christmas Day underpants bomber as a civilian.
Two disastrous decisions.
Certainly those were bad judgments based on poor advice from George Bush!

You might recall that when Scott Brown won the election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts, capturing “The Ted Kennedy Seat”, President Obama said, Brown’s victory was the result of the same voter anger that propelled Obama into office in 2008. People were still angry about George Bush and the policies of the past 10 years. And they wanted change.
Yes, according to the president, the voter rebellion in Massachusetts, was George Bush’s fault.
Therefore, in retaliation, they elected a Republican to the Ted Kennedy seat, ending a half-century of domination by Democrats. It is all George Bush’s fault !

It was brought to light that back in 1961 people of color were called ‘Negroes..’ So how can this ‘birth certificate’ (Obama’s) state he is ‘African-American’ when the term wasn’t even used back then?? This isn’t over!

Here is a comment from a reader to George Ure at UrbanSurvival.com: “As you all know, Donald Trump made a big deal about Obama’s birth certificate. I will tell you right now that I had never given this “birther” issue any credit. I watched the hype and the crazies come out. I completely dismissed the entire ordeal altogether.
In fact, it was not until the White House released the birth certificate that it had gained my attention. I am the studious sort of guy, and I have plenty of time on my hands. So, I took a close look at this document. While I would have thought that this issue would have been closed for good (and, got the crazies to crawl back into their holes), I found two extremely strange inconsistencies that merit some attention.
First of all, the birth certificate that the White House released lists Obama’s birth as August 4, 1961. It also lists Barack Hussein Obama as his father. No big deal, right? At the time of Obama’s birth, it also
shows that his father is aged 25 years old, and that Obama’s father was born in ” Kenya , East Africa “.
This wouldn’t seem like anything of concern, except the fact that Kenya did not even exist until 1963, two whole years after Obama’s birth, and 27 years after his father’s birth. How could Obama’s father have been born in a country that did not yet exist? Up and until Kenya was formed in 1963, it was known as the ” British East Africa Protectorate”. But, this is not the only thing that I found that just does not jive.
The other item that I looked into was the hospital that Obama was born in. On the birth certificate released by the White House, the listed place of birth is “Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital”..
This cannot be, because the hospital(s) in question in 1961 were called “KauiKeolani Children’s Hospital” and “Kapi’olani Maternity Home”, respectively. The name did not change to Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital until 1978, when these two hospitals merged.
How can this particular name of the hospital be on a birth certificate dated 1961 if this name had not yet been applied to it until 1978?
Go ahead, look it up. I am not talking crazy talk, these are the facts. Like I said, I thought that this was a non-issue until the actual certificate was released. Now that it has been released, of course I had to look into it. I have found these issues, now I know that something is up. If you doubt me, just look at the following resources:

The ol’ “birth document” also listed Barry’s race as African-American. If anything should be racist, this should be racist. Barry doesn’t give a hoot about black history! If he did, he’d, of all things, get this right! You see my friends, and especially my black friends, the term “African-American” did not exist in 1961. Nobody used that term! I defy you to find one single credible fact of ANYONE using the term “African-American” in 1961! In fact, in 1961 we didn’t have ANY “Hyphenated-Americans .” Barry’s (or Moh’s) race would have been recorded as “Negro” in 1961.
A poem by the name of “I Can” created the term African American in 1987. The poem was written by Johnny Duncan. It appeared in the 1987 Black History Calendar, and all subsequent editions through 1993. While taking infantry training at Ft. Benning , Georgia , Duncan came across an anonymous sign that read: “The last 4 letters of American spell I Can.” In 1987, Duncan set out to compose a poem based on that slogan. In the midst of writing, he realized that the last four letters of “African” also spelled “i can.” So in line twenty-five, of the poem Duncan wrote, the last 4 letters of my heritage and my creed spell “i can”, heritage being Afr-i-can and creed being Amer-i-can. Jesse Jackson saw a copy of the poem in the 1989 Black History Calendar that Duncan sent to Mrs. Coretta King. Jackson then collaborated with Ramona Edelin and others and made the push to use the term Afr-i-can Amer-i-can. The rest is Afr-i-can Amer-i-can History! Johnny Duncan , when he created the term, defined African Americans as “the children of the descendants of the African Diaspora who inhabit the Americas “, not just the United States.

So what does all this mean? Well, since we have no politicians, attorneys, judges and/or prosecutors with one ounce of backbone, the LIE will continue! One thing for sure though, patriots know a foul smellin’ skunk when they run across one and this president certainly has ALL the qualifications. This morning on the Today Show, Matt Lauer interviewed one of the wives of one of the Navy Seals killed this weekend. He asked her what she would say to her children about their dad and how she would want them to remember him…She said, and I quote, ” His love for Christ” and then continued with a few other things…through out the day and on MSN homepage…when the story is replayed they have edited the “Love of Christ” part out…
Why? Because using the word Christ might offend someone…well I am a Christian and I am offended! Offended that they would edit it out. Offended that we as Christians are asked to tread lightly so as not to offend someone of another religion.
I think anyone who missed the original broadcast this morning should know what NBC has done. This man loved his country and loved his God and gave his life for both, just as Christ gave His life for him…

The latest financial outlook for the country is rather negative. Unemployment will remain around 8% into 2014, food stamp recipients are at an all time high, home sales are at an all time low, gas prices remain high, food prices continue to rise, and home equity has plummeted. It is difficult to remain optimistic with all the bad news that continues to filter into the daily news. We can now add an unusual earthquake on the east coast and a hurricane that headed up the east coast to New York.
If this were any other country in the world, I would be pessimistic, but this is America. There is little that we can do concerning natural disasters, but the man made ones are within our ability to overcome and change. Remember the earthquakes in California years ago in the Los Angeles area? Highways and bridges were totally destroyed and the city needed a miracle to dig out from the disaster. That miracle was the government getting out of the way and allowing private enterprise the leeway to build. The roads and bridges were built in record time and the city returned to its usual routine.
I went to Biloxi a year after the hurricane hit and destroyed that area in Mississippi and Louisiana. Mississippi had recovered along with Biloxi because their people decided to use their initiative and hard work to rebuild. New Orleans continues to be a disaster because too many of their people are waiting for the federal government to come to the rescue. The tornados and floods in the Midwest ravaged numerous areas, but most have recovered because the people responded.
I just finished two books about the Chosin Reservoir in North Korea: “Give Me Tomorrow” and “The Last Stand of Fox Company.” The first covers the battles of George Company, Third Battalion, First Marines and the second Fox Company, Second Battalion, Seventh Marines. In both cases they were outnumbered by at least ten to one. The entire First Marine Division was surrounded by over 100,000 Chinese and were not given much chance of fighting to the sea. I was a teenager at that time and recall reading all of the newspaper and radio reports. The negativity was unbelievable. I think that following those exploits contributed to my joining the Marines when I turned 18.
Leadership and determination have been key elements whenever an individual, organization, or country are faced with what appears to be insurmountable odds. Look at what faced Great Britain in 1940 when it faced the power of the German war machine alone. The leadership of one man, Churchill, made the difference. Our own country defeated the most powerful country in the world at one time and that was because of leadership by key individuals, especially George Washington.
I remain optimistic because I know that leadership can place this country on the proper course. Unfortunately that leadership is not due until January 2012 following the next election. The typical American is waiting patently and with bated breath.
