As you will recall, Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is the Harvard professor who got arrested by Cambridge Police a month or so ago.
Fred Reed was a police reporter for one of the large Washington newspapers. He now writes a column which can be Googled ~ “Fred on Everything.”
Fred published a weekly online column in which he got to say the things his editors would never, ever have let him write in the paper. His stuff is iconoclastic and various articles have probably offended everyone . . . regardless of political orientation. So, with the warning that “This is definitely not politically correct,” here comes Fred……
The following is an essay regarding the failings of a system and a culture. Please note that he elegantly describes the mood of many Americans and he does so without prejudice.

Slavery Reparations ……….by Fred Reed!
On the Web I find that Henry Louis Gates Jr., the chairman of Afro-American Studies at Harvard, is demanding that whites pay reparations to blacks. It’s because of slavery, see. He is joined in this endeavor by a gaggle of other professional blacks. I guess he’ll send me a bill, huh?
I feel like saying, “Let me get this straight, Hank. I’m slow. Be patient. You want free money because of slavery, right? I don’t blame you.” I’d like free money too. Tell you what, I believe in justice. I’ll give you a million dollars for every slave I own, and another million for every year you were a slave. Fair enough? But tell me, how many slaves do you suppose I have? In round numbers, I mean…say to the nearest dozen. And how long were you a slave?
Oh. In other words, I owe you reparations for something that I didn’t do and didn’t happen to you. That makes sense. Like lug nuts on a birthday cake.
Personally, I think you owe me reparations for things you didn’t do and never happened to me. I’ve never been coated in Dutch chocolate and thrown from the Eiffel Tower. I’ll bet you’ve never done it to anyone. I want reparations. Kind of silly, isn’t it?
But if we’re going to talk about reparations, that’s a street that runs in two directions. You want money from me for what some other whites did to some other blacks in another century?
How about you guys paying whites reparations for current expenses caused by blacks? Not long ago blacks burned down half of Los Angeles, a city in my country. Cities are expensive, Hank. Build one sometime and you’ll see what I mean. Whites had to pay taxes to repair Los Angeles for you. You can send me a check.
Now, yes, I know you burned LA because you didn’t like the verdict in the trial of those police officers. Well, I didn’t like the verdict in the Simpson trial. But I didn’t burn my house and loot Korean grocers, or burn down a city.
Over the years blacks have burned a lot of American cities: Newark, Detroit, Watts, on and on. Now add in the fantastic cost over the years of welfare in all its forms, the cost of all of those police calls people had to make, for cells and jails and security systems in department stores.
I can’t live in the capital city of my own country because of crime committed by blacks. Toss in the cultural cost of lowering standards in everything for the benefit of blacks. See what I mean?
Now, I’d view things differently if you said to me, “Fred, blacks can’t get anywhere in a modern country without education. We know that. We need better schools, smarter teachers, harder courses, books with smaller pictures and bigger words. Can you help us?”
I’d say, “Hallelujah! Hoo-ahh! Not just yes, but hell yes. Let’s sell an aircraft carrier and get these folks some real schools and get them into the economic main-stream.’ I’d say It partly because it would be the right thing to do, and partly because I’d like to add you guys to the tax base.
The current custodial state is expensive. I’d just love for blacks to study and learn to compete and stop burning places. But is it going to happen? You may not believe it, but I, and most whites, don’t like seeing blacks as miserable and screwed up as they are.
I spend a fair amount of time in the projects. Those places are ugly. It’s no fun watching perfectly good kids turn into semi-literate dope dealers who barely speak English. It just plain ain’t right. But, Hank, what am I supposed to do about it? I can’t do your children’s homework. At some point, people have to do things for themselves, or they don’t get done. Maybe it’s time.
I’ll tell you what I see out in the world, Hank. I think blacks are too accustomed to getting anything they want by just demanding it. True, it has worked for over half a century. Get a few hundred people in the street, implicitly threaten to loot and burn, holler about slavery, and sadly the Great White Cash Spigot turns on.
Thing is, whites don’t much buy it any longer. Most recognize that what once was a civil-rights movement has become a shakedown game. Few people still feel responsible for the failings and inadequacies of blacks. Political correctness keeps the lid on – but everyone knows the score. Which scares me, Hank.
On one hand, blacks hate whites and incline toward looting and burning. (The whites you hate are the ones who marched in the civil-rights movement. Ever think about that?)
On the other hand, whites quietly grow wearier and wearier of it. Not good, Hank.
On the third hand (allow me three hands, for rhetorical convenience), blacks keep demanding things. As I write, you demand reparations for slavery. Blacks in Oklahoma (I think it was) want money for some ancient race riot.
Other blacks reject the Declaration of Independence. Blacks in New York hint broadly at burning and looting over a trial, yet more demand the elimination of the Confederate flag, and the federal equal opportunity apparatus, which means blacks want to sue Silicon Valley for not hiring nonexistent black engineers. That’s a lot of demanding for one month, Hank.
What happens if whites ever say, “No”?
Now, how about you? You’ve got a cushy job up there at Harvard, and you can hoot and holler about what swine and bandits whites are. I guess it’s lots of fun, and you get a salary for it to boot. But don’t you think you might do blacks more good if you told them to complain less and study more?
For example, if you want blacks to work in Silicon Gulch, the best approach might be to find some really smart black guys, and get them to study digital design ~ not Black Studies (as you teach). That’s how everybody else does it. It works. Then blacks wouldn’t feel left out, and racial tensions would decline. Sound like a plan?
Just out of curiosity, how many hours a week do professors of Afro-American Studies spend in the projects, encouraging poor black kids to study real-life sho-nuf subjects?
I do believe that this black preacher has a problem with Obama. He REALLY lashes out at him!

Greetings once again from the West Texas Headquarters For Jingoistic Vast Right Wing Conspirators Who Purposely Act Stupidly On Occasion.
STUPID: Last Wednesday the thought struck me that I wish I had waited for the world’s most intelligent and articulate human, Barack Hussein Obama, to have completed his 700th prime time speech to the masses. (Now for those of you residing in the People’s Republic of San Francisco, I realize that Barack Hussein Obama has not actually made 700 prime time speeches. It only feels like it was his 700th speech).
As we all know, the purpose of this speech was to EXPLAIN to the American people just how his new Universal Health Care plan was going to work. The only problem was this; the worlds most
intelligent and articulate human FAILED to explain how this idiotic plan was to actually work or help out the people. His speech did nothing more but reinforce what the majority of Americans already knew. The plan WILL NOT help out most Americans and will be cost prohibitive.
Then of course after this pitiful excuse for an explanation was finished, the world’s most intelligent and articulate human took some questions from the media. Now some of you are probably thinking that the media questions were a bit soft and pointless and even appeared to have been rehearsed.
Well I am here to tell you that I thought the same thing. I thought this idiotic piece o’ crap legislation is nothing more than a fairly obvious attempt by the federal government in the form of the Obama administration to take more control over our everyday lives. In all appearances it takes away our individual abilities to choose our own medical professionals and depending upon one’s age might even take away medical treatments for older Americans.
Then after all these softball questions were posed to the world’s most intelligent and articulate human had ended, President Barack Hussein Obama called upon one of the reporters for the final question. Now we had been led to believe that the entire purpose of this dull program was to give the world’s most intelligent and articulate human an opportunity to explain the particulars of this health care legislation. HOWEVER, the final question had nothing to do with the health care legislation. No, it was directed at how President Barack Hussein Obama viewed the incident in Cambridge, Massachusetts in which a black Harvard Professor of Black Studies had been arrested by the Cambridge Police Department. Now I don’t know why the world’s most intelligent and articulate human even offered an answer to this question which was completely off the subject. But regardless of my views, the world’s most intelligent and articulate human chose to toss in his views.
Barack Hussein Obama right off the bat said that he did not possess all of the facts in the case, and that Professor Henry Gates was a personal friend of his, but in his opinion the Cambridge Police Department had “ACTED STUPIDLY”. He further went on to expound on his (the President’s) opinions regarding racial profiling and indicated that this perhaps was the case in this incident. OK,
let’s examine this line of reasoning; The defendant was a black Harvard professor who was a personal friend of the President. Barack Hussein said that he did not know all of the facts regarding this incident. Barack Hussein Obama obviously stood ready to immediately take the side of his friend and appeared to be even more ready to say that the arresting Officer had acted stupidly.
Then a couple of days later when the facts of the case became public, it appeared that if there were any racial profiling present on that evening in Cambridge, Massachusetts, it more than likely was done by Black Studies Professor Henry Gates. My question still remains. Why would ANY PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES EVEN GET INVOLVED IN A PUBLIC DISCUSSION REGARDING THIS INCIDENT?
Of course after this whole incident was out in the open and President Barack Hussein Obama became aware that he had probably “crapped in his breakfast”, he immediately began his attempt to smooth matters over and in a somewhat amateurish attempt to tamp down a national uproar over his own racially motivated statements and the obvious racial statements by Professor Gates, further dug himself in a deeper hole. What some of the Democrat/Liberal/Socialist media have called a “Public Apology” actually was nothing more than Barack Hussein Obama acknowledge that he had used
“unfortunate words” in declaring that the Cambridge Police had “acted stupidly” in arresting Professor Gates. The world’s most intelligent and articulate human acknowledged, “I could’ve calibrated those words differently.” Perhaps the President should first look up the meaning of the word “Calibrate”. According to Webster the word CALIBRATE means: 1) to determine the caliber of 2) to fix or correct the graduations of a measuring instrument.
So as you can see, perhaps the world’s most intelligent and articulate human might need to refresh his memory on the meanings of certain words. Then instead of dropping the matter there, the world’s most intelligent and articulate human decided to invite the arresting Officer, Sergeant James Crowley AND Professor Gates to the White House to have a beer. This sort of makes me wonder if he will
invite Ahmadinejad, Chavez, Kim Jong Il, and a few others of their ilk for a beer at the White House. He did admit as sort of an afterthought that perhaps Professor Gates had “overreacted”. Let me make sure I have this straight: Sergeant Crowley was suspected of RACIAL PROFILING and ACTING STUPIDLY while Professor Gates had merely OVERREACTED. Yep, that sure sounds like the world’s most intelligent and articulate human is willing to treat Sergeant Crowley and Professor Gates with an unbiased eye.
However we should not be overly concerned. Not when the world’s most intelligent and articulate human in the person of Barack Hussein Obama tells all of us lesser beings that this whole matter was a TEACHABLE MOMENT.
Now that almost a week has passed, this story is still in the news. So in the long run, who “ACTED
STUPIDLY”? The Cambridge Police? No. Professor Gates? Perhaps. President Barack Hussein Obama? Looks like we have a winner. But if you really wanted to get a really intelligent take on the whole matter you needed to listen to the White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, who incidentally appears to possess an I.Q. about 20 points less than a pan of Kitty Litter. I have been watching Press Secretaries since JFK and I have seen some who were good, some who were bad, a couple who were exceptional. But Gibbs, in my opinion is the worst I have ever seen. But then again, competence does not appear to be high on the list of priorities for an Obama appointee.
Also for someone who was purported as being a person who “Transcends Race”, this President is giving a really good impression of someone who plays race for his own benefit about as well as anyone I have seen in quite a while. Actually he is much better at it than Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.
RAHM: I listened to a news report earlier this week which said that White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel had “Called in the Blue Dog Democrats for a meeting”. This meeting was allegedly for the purpose of Rahm Emanuel calling these Blue Dogs on them not supporting the President’s proposed health care legislation. This struck me as a bit unusual. Since when does the White House Chief of Staff have the authority to call in an ELECTED U.S. CONGRESSMAN OR SENATOR for any reason? Wonder if any of the so called Blue Dogs had the balls to tell ol’ Rahm to stuff it? Probably not.
Actually it appears that an Obama appointee has much more power in our federal government that do the elected mutts. If those elected officials are willing to take that kind of treatment then they deserve whatever treatment is handed out to them by the world’s most intelligent and articulate human or one of his toadies.
If the majority of the American people are willing to accept this type of system then they deserve it. BUT THE REST OF US DO NOT.
Everyone had better take a really close look at this health care legislation. And if you do not want to be in control of your medical care on matters like choosing your own doctors, or choosing what type
of treatment you would like to receive then you need to be writing, calling, and e-mailing your elected Congressmen and Senators to let them know how you feel.
If you are the type who wants to sit back and accept whatever scraps the Obama administration is willing to toss out to you, then GET THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY!
OSAMA: A report was received a couple of days back that one of the sons of Osama bin Laden had been killed in a bombing attack. The report went of to advise us further that the younger bin Laden HAD NOT been a primary target in this attack. And that his death was actually just COLLATERAL DAMAGE. COLLATERAL DAMAGE??? If in fact this was a member of team bin Laden, then I
would call it “A Gift”; “A bonus” or perhaps “Damn good luck”. But not collateral damage.

Jesse Jackson has added former Chicago Democrat Congressman Mel Reynolds to Rainbow/PUSH Coalition’s payroll.. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton’s last-minute forgiveness spree.
Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and-a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud, and lies to the Federal Election Commission.
He is more notorious, however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.

Barack says we need to have a conversation about race in America . Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere has done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the ‘ 60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-America n community into the mainstream. Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks — with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas — to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individ uals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances.. Where is the gratitude??
Barack talks about new ‘ladders of opportunity’ for blacks. Let him go to Altoona ? And Johnstown , and ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League r ecruiters handing out scholarships for ‘deserving ‘ white kids.? Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America ? Is it really white America ’s fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?
Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that while white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?
Is Barack aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were139 times as common in the first three years of this decade as the reverse?
We have all heard ad nauseam from the Rev. Al about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena . And all turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.
