My name is Wayne Campbell, and I live in Blacksburg, Virginia… home of the Virginia Tech Hokies. My wife is Dawn Marston Campbell. We have no children of our own, but numerous nephews, nieces, and god-children.
I graduated from Virginia Tech in 1965, with a B.S. in Physics. After earning a PhD in Nuclear Physics in 1969, I accepted a job with Pan American Petroleum Company in Houston, Texas, as a geophysicist.
Dawn and I moved to Houston in October, 1969. Pan American was the exploration arm of Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco), and I remained with Amoco until I retired in 1987. The last ten years of my career were spent at the Amoco Research Lab in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
In May, 1998, Dawn and I returned to Blacksburg to spend the rest of our lives in this wonderful place.
We are both registered Republicans and ardent supporters of conservative causes. Our faith is in Jesus Christ, and we believe that America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Furthermore, when America ceases to be a Judeo-Christian nation, America will cease to be… and the journey has begun.
The election of 2008 is probably the most important election in the history of this nation… and might be the last one as a free society. Hyperbole? Perhaps. Possible? You bet. Look how far we have strayed in the past couple decades, and these things speed up with time… not slow down.
If God does not intervene… if Christians do not humble themselves before the Creator… God’s hand will be removed from this once-great nation. We will become like France… or Sweden… or German. Mere shadows of our former selves. This is serious business… God’s business.
Pray, read, pray, think, pray, judge, pray, vote. And do not forget for one moment that we exist ONLY by the grace of God. We exist for His pleasure… to worship Him and to do His will.
Wayne

I have not read everthing yet, but I like what I have read so far. Cry for me Argentina really strikes a close to home. Our nation is following in their footsteps, just about 20-30 years behind. But they did not fall from such a height as our nation is getting ready to fall from. God help us, our goverment won’t. jmbjr
Comment by james m blakeman jr April 9, 2010 @ 7:44 pmYour 4/30 post about voting out Congress comes from an email with a lot of misinformation. For starters, they never voted for a raise for themselves or to deny a Social Security cost-of-living increase.
There’s a good explanation here:

Sorry for posting here but the comments are disabled for the post I’m referring to.
Comment by Gee May 3, 2010 @ 10:53 amI tripped across this site. I’m curious about your desire to “preach to the chior.” Isn’t that a dab boring, having no other points of views expressed to allow you to defend your concepts? In any event, best wishes.
Comment by Mike Slayton April 18, 2011 @ 5:33 pmMike, the reason that I like to “preach to the choir” is that I am just trying to get stuff out there. I really don’t want to joust with the left… or to absorb a lot of “strong” opposition, which too often takes the form of name calling and cursing.
Perhaps it is cowardly of me to choose this form of communication, but it is who I am. I hope that it isn’t dishonest of me… and I don’t find it boring. There is surely enough of “the other side” out there… e.g. network news, most daily papers, etc.
I do enjoy “defending my concepts” mano a mano”, but to open the door to the crazy world is just too stressful for me.
Cheers, dear friend!
